At least ten Muslim residents, mostly young women, were kidnapped after terrorist popularly called bandits raided Bargaja village in Sokoto State. Leaving multiple people dead and one seriously injured.
Sokoto, Nigeria — Armed terrorist suspected to be loyal to the notorious leader Bello Turji, have launched a deadly attack on Bargaja village in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The attack which happend on Friday night, resulted in the killing of several residents and abduction of at least ten others.
Local sources confirmed that one person sustained serious injuries, while most of those abducted were young women. The attack is coming after a sham peace deal with the terrorist which was facilitated by local government officials.
This incident comes amid rising scepticism over peace agreements between communities and terrorist groups. Analysts note that in many cases such deals have been reneged on by the criminals. For example, peace pacts in the northwest have repeatedly collapsed when armed groups suspected their community counterparts of cooperating with state forces — leading them to return to the forest and resume attacks. Sheikh Gummi a controversial Islamic Cleric has been advocating for a peace deal in the past.
