Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, the Plateau State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (Macban), confirmed the incident and condemned it as part of a disturbing trend of attacks on innocent travelers by ethnic militias in the area.

“We denounce this senseless and criminal act against civilians and urge relevant security agencies to investigate the incident, locate the perpetrators, and ensure they face justice,” Yusuf stated.
“We also call on the Plateau State Government and security authorities to reinforce security on major roads and commercial routes to prevent further assaults and protect the lives and property of law-abiding citizens, regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.”

This latest shooting may be linked to the killing of 12 individuals by Fulani bandits on the night of December 16 at an illegal mining site…

Despite these warnings, the Plateau State government has faced criticism for perceived inaction and selective enforcement, which some residents believe has emboldened militias to carry out further attacks.
