“Armed bandits have launched another deadly assault this evening along the Turawa–Salihawa road in Musawa Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, killing two people and injuring three others” according to reports from Bakatsine.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attack occurred shortly before Maghrib prayers, when the assailants blocked the road and opened fire on commuters and farmers returning from their fields.
The attackers also carted away five sacks of soybeans belonging to the victims before fleeing the scene.
This latest incident comes just weeks after Musawa LGA reached a peace agreement with the bandits—an initiative aimed at ending persistent violence and restoring normalcy to the area.
